Trial Databases

4 Databases have been added to the Database Trials page: http://www.emich.edu/library/about/trialdbases.php Encyclopedia of Social Work Available Until: November 6, 2015 "Encyclopedia of Social Work, the first continuously updated online collaboration between the National Association of Social Workers (NASW Press) and Oxford University Press (OUP). ... Over 400 overview articles, on key topics ranging from international issues to ethical standards,... with new articles and revisions to existing articles added regularly." SAGE Business Researcher Available Until: November 6, 2015 "SAGE Business Researcher reports on the most important topics in the business and management curriculum with balanced, in-depth coverage and analysis in a highly accessible format written with the undergraduate in mind. Modeled after CQ Researcher, content is specially commissioned rather than aggregated from outside resources, and each report includes short feature articles on related topics, expert views often formatted as pro/con debates, and graphs and charts with downloadable data. Each issue provides context to help students understand the topic and lists scholarly resources to guide further research." SAGE Research Methods w/ Cases and Datasets Available Until: November 6, 2015 "SAGE Research Methods is a research methods tool created to help researchers, faculty and students with their research projects. SAGE Research Methods links over 175,000 pages of SAGE’s renowned book, journal and reference content with truly advanced search and discovery tools. Researchers can explore methods concepts to help them design research projects, understand particular methods or identify a new method, conduct their research, and write up their findings. Since SAGE Research Methods focuses on methodology rather than disciplines, it can be used across the social sciences, health sciences, and more." "SAGE Research Methods Cases is a collection of hundreds of case studies of real social research, specially commissioned and designed to support teaching and learning in research methods. Each case is written to help students understand the often abstract-feeling methodological concepts by seeing how methods have been used in actual projects." "SAGE Research Methods Datasets is a collection of teaching datasets that can be used to support the teaching and independent learning of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods used in the social sciences. These are datasets taken from real research projects, but edited and cleaned for teaching purposes. Each dataset will be accompanied by a short clear narrative description of the data and easy-to-follow instructions on how to apply the research method." SAGE Video Available Until: November 6, 2015 ""Welcome to SAGE Video, online video collections in the social sciences, created for use in teaching and research across higher education. SAGE's video collections combine originally commissioned material with licensed videos in the areas of Education, Media, Communication and Cultural Studies, and Counseling & Psychotherapy."
